Thank you for your article on intimidated by unfamiliarity, that message that I retrieved from your archives made me think of reasons that we sometimes procrastinate but never really divulge the truth of why. I am a minister as well as a divorced mother of 2 ( pre-teen & teenager) I work a full time job as well as God as given me a business plan to implement along with a phenomenal outreach ministry. I am currently associated with a church family as well as the plans to implement internally within the church I am affilliated with & sometimes everything can be totally overwhelming and truthfully just as the writer mentioned when you look around your life and can't find a reference point in your own experiences we start to tremble at the task ahead & somewhere inside we shake and in response we begin to retreat from the assignment God has given us but hold your head up and with great assurance know that my help cometh from the LORD who made heaven & earth. He put His Spirit in us and we will keep his commandments and do them because I can do all things thru Chris Jesus.

Thank you for taking the time to encourage others. I have recently taken the part-time Children's Minister position at our church. I have two boys ages 11 and 19 months. I, too, have been praying for God to show me ways to better balance family time and ministry. Your article was wonderful and it sounds like you really are focused and intentional about your ministry. Thanks again!

Trust me, if you like what M. Y. is saying in this book, you will be blown away by "The Shack"!!!!!!!
It makes you believe that God is up to something, there is some profound truths he is trying to get us to not only believe, but live.
"Messy Spirituality" is next on my list.

Great insight!

I am writing a message about leadership and how everyone has a God given platform to effect change and to do great things. To be apart of God doing big things always have to start small.

Small is taking advantage of the everyday opportunities to effect change for God now.

Thanks again for the great thought.

Going to two services? Growth is ok, Growth in God is Great. Old church idea. First service from 9 to 10, Sunday School 10 to 11, second service 11 to noon.
New Church Idea, Second service at 11 to noon. How long to clear the parking lot? Give that much time plus one hour and that is the start of the first service. Kids, (under 6th grade) get sunday school, Youth get their service and adults get their's. At wild and odd times durring the week, HOME GROUP !!

I can not say enought for the concept of home group vs Sunday school for adults and youth. We hit HARD our small group problems, we work them out, we deal with how God is working in our lives. We, the small group, go where God is leading. We are not by ourselves, but have the full church to depend on and to help us. This is not the best resource, but it will be a start. Check out www.cedarcreekchurch.net Look for Cindy B. She loves God, Her Husband, her Children, and your intrest in homegroups. (aka Small groups)
